About the Position

HME is seeking a skilled Pilebuck to support marine construction, dock building, and pile driving operations. The Pilebuck will work with steel, timber, and concrete piles to install piers, bulkheads, bridges, and marine foundations. This position requires strong knowledge of rigging, welding, lifting operations, and marine construction safety practices.

Pilebucks will work closely with crane operators, quality and safety managers, and site supervisors to complete marine infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in pile driving operations for docks, piers, bulkheads, and marine structures.
  • Work with steel, timber, and concrete piles for foundation installation.
  • Operate and maintain rigging, pile driving hammers of various types.
  • Perform cutting, burning, and welding of steel piles and components.
  • Assist in dock and bridge construction, performing deck repairs and structural reinforcements.
  • Follow OSHA, USACE, and industry-specific safety protocols for marine construction.
  • Work from barges, floating platforms, and scaffolding in marine environments.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in pile driving, rigging, or marine construction.
  • Experience working on water-based structures, including docks, piers, and bulkheads.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and marine environments.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and perform demanding labor tasks.

Preferred Certifications & Licenses

  • OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Construction Safety Training
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card
  • Confined Space Entry Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Certified Rigging & Signal Person Certification
  • Boater’s Card
  • Welding Certification (AWS D1.1, WABO Structural Welding, or ABS) (Highly Preferred)

Relevant Industry Training & Experience

  • Experience operating vibratory and impact hammers for pile installation.
  • Advanced Rigging, Load Handling, and Signal Training.
  • Knowledge of marine crane and hoisting operations.
  • Structural welding experience for steel pile reinforcements.
